Agnes: Release Me

Monday, 06, Apr 2009 01:44

Liverpool label, 3 Beat Blue, ably demonstrate their star spotting skills, as Scandinavia's biggest pop sensation prepares to hit the UK.

Swedish superstar Agnes is set to enjoy the smash hit of the summer with her first UK single Release Me.

Still just 21 years old, Agnes has already enjoyed an amazing, six top ten hit singles and three hit albums in Sweden. Release Me, a track she co-wrote and already a hit across Scandinavia, now looks certain to be huge across Europe. With a look and vocal talent that has drawn inevitable Leona Lewis comparisons, Agnes is out to prove that she's got a style and sound all of her own.

Agnes began her career at the tender age of 17, enjoying a string of chart successes in Sweden, leading to gold, platinum and double platinum selling albums! As she grew, so her style evolved, until she was introduced to songwriter and producer Anders Hansson in 2008. The creative sparks began to fly as Hansson's dance flavoured production allowed Agnes to express her drive, energy and attitude, and of course, let loose with her incredible vocals. Release Me is the result of this studio alchemy and announces the arrival of a major new talent.

The video for Release Me has already hit well over a million views on YouTube and a staggering 12 weeks up front, was immediately added across the board on the UK video channels, including The Box, Clubland TV, MTV and Hits. Radio promotion has yet to begin but already BBC Radio 1's Floorfillers show has picked up on Release Me, playing it two weeks running.

The remix package includes quality house mixes from Cahill, Grammy award winners, Moto Blanco, Nils Van Zandt, LA Rush and DJ Rebel, ensuring that every dancefloor will be rocking to the sounds of Agnes this summer.

With her infectious enthusiasm, sparkling energy and stunning vocal ability, Agnes is on the way to becoming one of music's biggest new names.
