Pouting Doctor Who pixie Billie Piper has revealed that she married ginger radio DJ Chris Evans behind her parents' backs.
The former child star caused a media storm when she married the then 35-year-old ginger hell-raiser at the tender age of 18, at a secret £200 ceremony in Las Vegas.
However, that was nothing compared to the storm she invoked at her homestead, where her parents apparently went "completely mental" when they heard the news.
Billie, 23, told
Glamour magazine: "I didn't care though. I didn't want their opinion."
She added: "I don't know if they completely got over that but you've got to move on. Now I speak to them all the time."
Evans and Piper split earlier this year, following four years of hedonistic marriage.
Billie, who plays Rose Tyler in
Doctor Who, is now seeing Amadu Sowe, who is rumoured to be a tantric sexpert.
However, the star was quick to laugh off such claims in delicate style: "He's definitely not Mr Tantric. And thank God, because who wants to be having sex for three days without the big O? Isn't that what it's about? And I've got a job to do!"
She is currently filming the second series of
Doctor Who with the new doctor, David Tennant, who has replaced the convincing yet departing Christopher Eccleston.
