Manchester United are set to offload Portugal pantomime villain Cristiano Ronaldo to Real Madrid for £20 million, with Alex Ferguson using the cash to help fund a blockbusting £40 million bid for Atletico Madrid's Spain starlet Fernando Torres.
But if the Ronaldo deal to Real does go through, Brazil hitman Robinho could find himself going in the other direction.
Another striker possibly on the move is Nicolas Anelka, with Portsmouth boss Harry Redknapp keen to get the ex-Arsenal man on a season-long loan from Turkish outfit Fenerbahce.
Proving that football is a family affair, Arsene Wenger wants to bring Kolo Toure's younger brother and Ivory Coast team-mate Yaya Toure to Ashburton Grove next season, but may baulk at Olympiakos' £8 million transfer demands.
A more realistic Premiership acquisition is new boys Watford splashing the cash (£500,000) to tempt perma-tanned one-cap wonder Lee Hendrie from Aston Villa.
And as the Italian Serie A trial deepens, it appears that many of the Azzurri's top World Cup performers could be England-bound, with Chelsea boss Jose Mourinho set to turn his attention to world class centre back Fabio Cannavaroafter having missed out on Belgian wonderkid Vincent Kompany.
The Portuguese manager may also consider a bid for Gianluca Zambrotta, who appears ready-made to solve the Blues' left-back problems.
And finally, the world's most expensive keeper Gianluigi Buffon has been heavily tipped to replace the sometimes erratic Victor Valdes with a cut-price move to Spanish champions Barcelona.
