Serena Williams admitted she felt like she was holding Venus Williams' trophy after she beat her sister in the final of Wimbledon.
Venus has been the queen of Wimbledon in recent years and has won five Wimbledon titles this decade and was on course for a hat-trick of titles at SW19.
It was Venus who triumphed over Serena to lift the title last year, but her younger sister got the better of her this year as a supreme performance from Serena saw her cruise to a 7-6 (7-3) 6-2 win and claim her third Wimbledon title.
"It feels so amazing, I'm so blessed," Serena told BBC Sport. "I feel like I shouldn't be holding the trophy, like I'm holding Venus's trophy. It's named for Venus and she always wins, so it hasn't settled in I won yet."
Venus had heavy strapping on her right knee, but made no excuses and felt her sister was a deserved winner. The eight-time Grand Slam winner still has a chance to win a title at this year's tournament when she plays in the ladies final alongside Serena.
"Today she was too good, she had an answer for everything. She played the best tennis today so congratulations. I don't think the loss has set in yet because I'm still smiling," said Venus.
"I've had so many great times here and of course I'm looking forward to next year and the doubles final later. I love what I do and most of all I love playing these finals."
