Prop forward Jamie Thackray has signed a new one-year contract with Hull FC to continue with the club until the end of the 2009 Super League season.
The 28-year-old Great Britain international, who left Leeds Rhinos to rejoin the KC Stadium outfit earlier this year, was initially offered a short-term deal until the end of the current season.
However, head coach Richard Agar said Thackray had impressed since switching from the current Super League champions and had earned himself an additional year.
"Jamie Thackray has the ability to bend and break defensive lines," Agar explained.
"He has impressed with his desire to remain at Hull FC - that desire and attitude has been rewarded with his contract extension."
Thackray himself added: "I have loved being back at Hull. It is a fantastic club.
"I am determined to have a big off-season to put myself in the best physical shape for 2009 so that I can play my part in Hull FC's challenge for honours."
