Hull KR forward banned by RFL
Hull Kingston Rovers forward Clint Newton has been handed a one-match ban by the Rugby Football League, meaning he will lose his ever present record.

Newton was found guilty of striking St Helens prop Jason Cayless during his side's 52-10 defeat at Knowsley Road last Friday.

The challenge saw Cayless carried off on a stretcher.

He was "cited" and his ban means he will not continue his ever present record in the Hull KR lineup.

Newton has started all 16 matches since he joined the team at the start of the season but disciplinary committee have decided to ban him for one game.

He has already been fined this season for incident that saw him execute a "chicken wing" tackle.

Found to be guilty of 'behaviour contrary to the true spirit of the game' he was fined £300.
