Quinn does not expect Keane to walk out on Sunderland
Sunderland chairman Naill Quinn says he is not worried that the club have not yet secured manager Roy Keane to a long-term contract.
Keane only has one more season left on his current deal and the club are yet to enter into negotiations with the Irishman about an extension.
However, Quinn has assured the club's supporters that there is trust between the two parties and expects to get together with Keane to discuss his future when the time is right.
The former Sunderland and Ireland striker explained that Keane had been away a lot during the summer and there had not been a chance to discuss his contract.
Quinn told the Sunderland Echo: "Roy has been away a lot with his coaching course, but the players are back soon and as the whole thing gets going again, I'm sure we will sort that out.
"It is not an issue that has faltered it has not even got going."
Quinn does not expect his manager to get poached by another club and insists there is a binding agreement between the pair.
He said: "The great thing about Roy Keane and this situation is that there is trust in the air between us.
"There's a year left on his deal and we actually respect contracts at our level."
Quinn said he hoped to provide the Black Cats' fans with a season free from the worry of a relegation battle while the attempt to secure their place in the Premier League.
