Steve Finnan has left Liverpool for La Liga side Espanyol
Liverpool have parted company with defender Steve Finnan and striker Andriy Voronin, who have joined Spanish side Espanyol and German club Hertha Berlin, respectively.
Republic of Ireland international full-back Steve Finnan has opted to swap Liverpool for the sunnier climes of the city of Barcelona, signing a two-year deal for an undisclosed fee to move to La Liga.
He has recently fallen out of favour with Reds boss Rafael Benitez, who has signed several competitors for Finnan's spot in the first team and now sees him as superfluous to requirements.
And Voronin is also on his way out of Anfield, for this season at least, after agreeing terms with Bundesliga side Hertha on a year-long loan.
The Ukrainian has failed to make an impact since arriving on a free transfer last summer, scoring just six goals for the Reds last season.
In a move that will either see him recover his form and return to Merseyside or slowly burn out in Germany, Voronin will ply his trade on the continent in 2008/09.
