Robbie Fowler insists he has nothing to prove after his move to Blackburn Rovers.
The ex-England striker has agreed a three-month pay-as-you-play deal with Paul Inces side after leaving Championship side Cardiff City.
Fowler rejected a contract with the Bluebirds after an injury-plagued season where he made just 13 league appearances.
The 33-year-old said he has proved his fitness after spending pre-season on trial at Ewood Park.
"Ive been here for two months now, so the fact I've come here and proved my fitness, although not in games, shows that I can now be involved in games at a weekend and that is what Im coming for, " Fowler told the clubs website.
"The manager asked if I would be interested to come here on trial and see how it goes. Thankfully Ive proved that and he has given me a three-month pay-as-you-play contract.
"I wanted to get back in the Premier League and the fact that I've taken a 'pay as you play' deal proves that. I feel good, my fitness is good."
Fowler has previously been at Manchester City, Leeds United, and had two spells with Liverpool.
The striker is expected to be on the bench for tomorrow's clash with Arsenal at Ewood Park.
