Warrington Wolves full-back Stuart Reardon out for the season
Warrington Wolves full-back Stuart Reardon has been told he will miss the rest of the season after scans revealed he has ruptured his Achilles tendon.

The 26-year-old requires surgery for a full reconstruction of the ankle after being sent to a specialist for scans at the weekend.

Reardon suffered the injury during the first half of the Wolves' thrilling 40-34 Challenge Cup defeat to St Helens on Saturday and will need the rest of the year to make a full recovery.

Head coach Paul Cullen will also be without second-row forward Paul Johnson, who was forced to leave the field against Saints with a knee injury.

According to a statement from the club, Cullen feared the injury to Johnson "could be a very serious one".

And after seeing a specialist today, it has been confirmed the player has suffered ligament damage that requires an operation and his rehabilitation will take until the winter.

Both Johnson and Reardon have been key players for Wolves this year, helping the club into the top six and in line for a berth in the end-of-season playoffs.End of story
