Wigan Warriors agree one-year contract extension with Gareth Hock
Wigan Warriors have agreed a one-year contract extension with Great Britain forward Gareth Hock, who is now tied to the club until at least 2011.

The 24-year-old, who is a product of the club's highly touted youth system, has been in excellent form for the Warriors this season.

Hock was also named the Super League young player of the season in 2007 at the man of Steel awards ceremony, marking his arrival at the top table of rugby league.

And Wigan coach Brian Noble, who gave Hock his international debut when he was in charge of the Great Britain team, said: "It was always a pleasure working with Gareth when I was Great Britain coach and when I joined Wigan that admiration has grown.

"He is a tough, resilient player who wears his heart on his sleeve and is also a very good footballer. He really compliments our pack well."

Hick himself proclaimed his love for the club and his desire to continue improving as part of the Wigan setup.

"I am a Wigan lad and I love playing for my home town club," he said.

"I am aiming to have a good second half to the season with the hope of helping Wigan to a final and being selected for England in the World Cup."End of story
