Slaven Bilic agrees new two-year contract as Croatia coach
The Croatian Football Association has moved to end speculation over the future of Slaven Bilic by agreeing a new two-year contract with the head coach.

Local media reports suggest Bilic will stay with his national team, despite being linked to a multi-million pound move to coach in England at former club West Ham United or as a replacement for Sven-Goran Eriksson at Manchester City.

Bilic's new deal is rumoured to be a two-year agreement that will keep him in charge of the Croatian side until after the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.

According to national daily Vecernji List, the 39-year-old will be paid 1.2 million kuna (£130,750) per year for his services, with additional bonuses linked to success at Euro 2008 and in the upcoming World Cup 2010 qualifying tournament.

Croatian FA vice-president Ivan Brlekovic is quoted by the paper as saying: "The coach's salary will have a fixed value but additional rewards will depend on his team's successes."

Under Bilic, Croatia qualified for the finals of Euro 2008 ahead of England and Russia, who finished second in the group.

And the eastern Europeans were drawn alongside England again in the qualifying stages for the 2010 World Cup in South Africa.
