Andy Murray up one spot to 19th in latest ATP world rankings
Andy Murray has moved up to 19th in the latest ATP world rankings after reaching the third round of the Monte Carlo Masters last week.
The British number one lost in straight sets to eventual semi-finalist Novak Djokovic, but only after he had recorded solid wins over world number 34 Feliciano Lopez and number 42 Filippo Volandri in the earlier rounds.
Murray's 75 ranking points for reaching the third stage of the tournament equalled his best performance in an ATP Masters Series event this year - he also reached the last 16 at Indian Wells in March.
He collected a total of 450 ranking points for winning two titles earlier this year - in his first tournament in Doha, as well as in Marseille in February.
Australian Lleyton Hewitt was the man to drop one place to 20th as a result of Murray's success.
Despite Rafael Nadal again showing his superiority over world number one Roger Federer on clay, as the Spaniard won the Monte Carlo title on Sunday, the world number two remains more than 1,000 ranking points behind the Swiss star.
There were no position changes within the top ten, although Jo-Wilfried Tsonga jumped three spots to 13th.
Frenchman Paul-Henri Mathieu was the biggest faller, slipping six places to 18th in the rankings after he lost in the first round at the Monte Carlo Masters to Serbia's Janko Tipsarevic.
