Hull FC have shown they are ready for a serious assault on the Super League title by making Australian Mark O'Meley their latest signing.
O'Meley will move to England from National Rugby League (RFL) giants the Sydney Roosters and has agreed a three-year contract with Hull.
The experienced 28-year-old has played over a decade in the NRL and also played 15 times for Australia. O'Meley admitted it would be difficult for him to leave his homeland, but was looking forward to a new challenge in England.
"I have had a wonderful time at the Roosters and am able to take some great memories with me," said O'Meley.
"Whilst it has been a lean season this year I am excited about the future of the club and the young players that we have coming through. I am sad to be leaving but am looking forward to the experience over in the UK."
Hull have been bolstering their squad for next season and O'Meley is the latest big name to move to the KC Stadium.
O'Meley will play for the Black and Whites alongside his Roosters team-mate Craig Fitzgibbon and also Jordan Tansey, who is currently on-loan at Sydney from the Leeds Rhinos.
But the marquee signing for Hull is that of St Helens superstar Sean Long. The scrum-half is one of the best players in Super League history and he will spend the next two seasons with Hull.
