German legend Bernhard Langer was in scintillating form as he carded a seven-under-par 65 to give himself a shot of winning the BMW International Open.
The 51-year-old had a perfect round which saw him hit seven birdies and no bogeys. Langer ended the third round in Munich on 15-under-par and is just two strokes behind tournament leader Retief Goosen.
"This is as close as I could get to winning at home and it would mean a lot," said Langer. "It would also be very special with my son Stefan on my bag. We have only one more tournament together before he goes off to college.
I'm at a stage where I just want to enjoy my golf. I don't want to grind any more and I don't have anything to prove - I've been very blessed."
Two-time US Open champion Goosen has led the tournament since the first round and will head into the final round as the favourite. The South African carded a third round five-under-par 67, but could have had a bigger lead had he not suffered a bogey six in the final hole.
British duo Nick Dougherty and David Drysdale are tied in third place on 12-under-par after both hit a third round 68.
Europe Ryder Cup captain Colin Montgomerie fired a hole-in-one on the eighth, but had an otherwise disappointing round of 72 to end on three-under-par.
