The fate of BMW Sauber's staff remains undecided, according to Laus Draeger - a member of the board of management at the car manufacturuer.
The German marque have revealed their intention to pull out of formula one, claming that the main reason for their decision was not the current performance of the team or the general economic situation and that it was solely the company's strategic realignment.
But, because the announcement was made in such a short timescale, the manufacturer is yet to decide on whether the BMW Sauber outfit will be sold or shut down completely.
In a statement Draeger said: "Of course, our decision to discontinue our formula one campaign will have an effect on our employees.
"Since we only made this decision yesterday, I cannot give you any more precise information on this matter yet.
"We will develop and assess various scenarios and do our best to find solutions for our employees in Hinwil and those involved in the formula one project in Munich and Landshut.
"Most importantly, we are aware of the responsibility we shoulder and will inform staff as soon as we can make a clear statement."
When Japanese manufacturer Honda announced their intention to pull out of F1, months of uncertainty followed before the team was bought out by Ross Brawn.
BMW made a return to F1 in 2000 as an engine supplier for the Williams team and then became a team owner in 2006 with BMW Sauber.
The German manufacturer will continue its touring car and Formula BMW racing campaigns in 2010.
