Massa secures third straight Turkish pole

Felipe Massa secures pole position for tomorrow's Turkish grand prix as he bids for third straight victory in Istanbul

Felipe Massa has secured pole position for tomorrow's Turkish grand prix as he bids for a third straight victory in Istanbul.
The Ferrari driver's final qualifying lap of one minute, 27.617 seconds was good enough to clinch starting place on the grid for a third year running.
Massa's stunning last lap pushed Heikki Kovalainen into second place for tomorrow's grand prix.
The Finn won the highest grid position of his career despite last month's high-speed crash in the Spanish grand prix.
One place behind Kovalainen is his McLaren team-mate Lewis Hamilton, who struggled with his choice of harder tyres.
The Briton can at least console himself by starting ahead of championship front-runner Kimi Raikkonen, who was fourth fastest.
But the day belonged to Massa, who admitted after he "just love[s]" the track in Turkey.
"It was a great qualifying as I put together a very good lap at the end," he was quoted by BBC Sport as saying.
"I get a lot of pleasure from driving on it, and now I will try to have the best race possible and try to do everything right. It won't be easy, though, because our competitors are strong."
