Mosley to miss Spanish grand prix in favour of Jordan Rally trip
Under-fire FIA president Max Mosley will miss next weekend's Spanish grand prix in Barcelona in order to attend a World Rally Championship race in Jordan.

Mosley, who has faced increasing calls for his resignation in recent weeks, will again avoid the glare of the formula one circuit's media spotlight by going to the Jordan Rally at the invitation of His Royal Highness Prince Feisal Al Hussein.

"Max has been a strong friend and ally to Jordan and has supported us since we announced our bid three years ago, so we are delighted that he will be sharing this historic occasion with us," Prince Feisal said.

Last month the News of the World newspaper claimed it had proof that Mosley had been involved in a 'Nazi-style orgy' with several prostitutes.

And after a High Court injunction cleared the publication to post an edited video clip of the incident on its website, the 67-year-old has been under pressure to hand in his notice as the head of the F1 governing body.

Since the video was published, Mosley has not attended a grand prix - choosing to remain in London over the race weekend in Bahrain at the beginning of April in order to look at the ramifications of a possible lawsuit over the media reports.

The Jordan Rally, to be held between April 24th and 27th, will see the WRC return to an Arab nation for the first time in 32 years.End of story
