Following his unfortunate injury on England duty, one of Arsenal's top young stars could be facing a long layoff.

The Gunners may be without Theo Walcott for as long as three months after he dislocated shoulder his shoulder during training with the national team in Germany.

Elsewhere, Wigan Athletic defender Ryan Taylor is emerging as a January transfer target for Premier League rivals Bolton Wanderers and Everton.

Newcastle United stopper Shay Given may be on his way to Serie A with current team-mate Michael Owen.

The two highly-rated Magpies stars may leave next year - Given because Ireland coach Giovanni Trappatoni has been singing his praises to his friends back home and Owen because he is refusing to sign terms on a new contract.

And finally, Liverpool midfielder Yossi Benayoun looks set to leave Anfield in 2009 after revealing to a television station in his native Israel that he is unhappy with being left on the bench by Reds boss Rafael Benitez.

A move back to West Ham United is not being ruled out, especially if current Hammers boss Gianfranco Zola is able to offload some of his more expensive stars in January to fund a cut-price bid for Benayoun.
