Middlesbrough will play host to Tottenham Hotspur on the opening day of the 2008/09 Premier League season after the fixtures were announced today.
Gareth Southgate's men then have a difficult game at Anfield before returning home to play newly-promoted Stoke City before the end of August.
The Tyne-Tees derbies against Newcastle United take place on November 29th and May 9th.
And Boro face their other local rivals Sunderland at the Stadium of Light on September 20th, with the return match at the Riverside on January 10th.
