Toffees to host Rovers in opening game

Everton will kick-off their 2008/09 Premier League campaign with a home fixture against Blackburn Rovers.
However, the first date to jump out of the calendar for Toffees supporters is likely to be September 27th, when David Moyes' men resume hostilities with local rivals Liverpool at Goodison Park.
That game kicks off a difficult series of matches, though, with games against Newcastle United, Arsenal and Manchester United following in successive weeks throughout October.
The second Merseyside derby of the season is due to take place at Anfield early in the new year, on January 17th, and Everton's final game of the season sees them take on Fulham at Craven Cottage.
