Jol's men won away from home for the second time in a week
A late Jermaine Jenas strike helped Tottenham Hotspur claim their first away win in the Premiership since December with a 2-1 victory over Everton.
Jenas sent in a curling effort from the edge of the area past Tim Howard in the Toffees' goal in the 89th minute to hand the away side victory.
Spurs had gone in front after 35 minutes when Bulgarian striker Dimitar Berbatov calmly finished a sweeping counter attack.
Everton were soon level when Mikel Arteta whizzed in a free-kick from the edge of the area to make it 1-1 at half time.
Leon Osman went close for the Toffees in the second period forcing Paul Robinson into a smart save, while Robbie Keane missed a good chance at the other end.
However, it was Jenas who proved to have the game's winning touch that broke Everton hearts.
Elsewhere Watford and Wigan drew 1-1 in a battle of the Premiership basement.
Wigan's Fitz Hall was dismissed after 20 minutes for a two-footed challenge on Johan Cavalli and the home side soon made their numerical advantage count.
Darius Henderson gave Watford the lead three minutes later. A good run and cross by Jordan Stewart found the striker in the middle of the six-yard box and he tucked the ball home.
However, the Latics were not out of it and continued to threaten the Hornets goal with Caleb Folan and Lee McCulloch both testing Ben Foster in the Watford net.
They eventually got their reward when Folan met McCulloch's cross and put the ball past John Filan into the bottom right of the goal.
