Sven-Goran Eriksson has prepared a summer 'shopping list' for City
Sven-Goran Eriksson is to present
Manchester City owner Thaksin Shinawatra with a 'shopping list' of players he wants to buy over the summer.
The future of the former England boss has been called into question after comments from Shinawatra, saying he would review Eriksson's first season in charge once the domestic campaign is over.
After enjoying a superb start to the season, City have dropped off the pace somewhat.
And despite some commendable results in 2008 - including a 2-1 win at league leaders and local rivals
Manchester United the team's performances have tailed off since the turn of the year.
However, even with question marks over his future Eriksson is already planning for the 2008/09 campaign and has revealed he will speak to the owner about obtaining the finances needed to make some key signings.
"We know what we want to do, but you have to have the OK from the owners and that's what I hope will happen," Eriksson told the Daily Star newspaper.
"It will be a little bit like giving [Shinawatra] a list, but it's not only about players.
"He knows what we want to change, but it's always good to speak."
City have been linked to a number of players already, including unsettled
Liverpool striker Peter Crouch,
Tottenham Hotspur winger Aaron Lennon and CSKA Moscow forward Jo.
An ambitious move for Barcelona playmaker Ronaldinho has also been mooted, and while Eriksson refused to name names he said he is hoping for a significant warchest to spend in the upcoming transfer window.
"I don't know how much I will have to spend, but I do know how much I would like," he stated.
"So far [the owner] has been very good to the club and I can't see any reason why that won't go on."
