Portsmouth have denied rumours that manager Harry Redknapp could resign at the end of the season.

Media reports today claimed that Redknapp was ready to walk away from the game because of personal problems, which includes a police investigation that he is under in regards to corruption in football.

But Portsmouth chief executive Peter Storrie insisted that the claims Redknapp would resign were "rubbish" and that Redknapp himself was "furious" with the reports.

"It's an unbelievable load of rubbish, complete make believe," said Storrie. "I can assure the fans that Harry is going absolutely nowhere.

"We are about to play the FA Cup final and people are coming out with this. It's hardly helping things. We don't need this at this moment.

"People should not believe any of it, though, it's complete and utter nonsense. Where these silly stories come from I have no idea. They are nonsense, just nonsense. Harry is furious about this - we all are. It's a load of rubbish," added Storrie.

Redknapp signed a new long-term contract at Fratton Park only last October after the 61-year-old turned down the chance to takeover as manager of Newcastle United. End of story
