Police raid on Harry Redknapp's Dorset home deemed unlawful
A High Court judge has ruled that a City of London police raid on the home of Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp was unlawful.

Mr Redknapp, whose home in Poole, Dorset was targeted by the force as part of an ongoing investigation into alleged corruption in football, was awarded damages of £1,000.

At the time, the FA Cup-winning manager had complained that he and his wife Sandra had been singled out in order to give the City of London police a high-profile arrest.

And he began legal proceedings against the legality of the warrant used to carry out the raid, which happened in the early hours of the morning last November while Mr Redknapp was abroad.

The court ruled the procedures involved in the issuing of the warrant were "wholly unacceptable" and condemned the police for their actions.

Mr Redknapp was arrested in conjunction with the raid on his home but later released on bail. He denies any wrongdoing.
