David Sullivan has been arrested
Birmingham City's co-owner David Sullivan and managing director Karren Brady have been bailed following a meeting with police.
The pair were arrested in connection with the ongoing investigation into corruption in professional football.
City of London police confirmed that they had questioned a 59-year-old man and a 39-year-old woman on suspicion of conspiracy to defraud and false accounting.
Mr Sullivan and Ms Brady have now been released on bail and the club were keen to claim that the police had arranged to meet with Mr Sullivan and Ms Brady some time ago.
A club statement said: "By longstanding appointment, they have willingly attended interviews today. Birmingham City football Club is fully committed to helping the Police with their enquiries.
"For the avoidance of doubt, no charges have been brought. We have been requested by the Police not to comment further whilst their enquiry is ongoing."
In March, Birmingham City was raided by police officers "in connection with the ongoing investigation into football corruption".
Faye, the former
Portsmouth player is also believed to have been questioned by police.
Detectives are understood to be looking into Faye's transfers from Auxerre to Portsmouth in 2003 and the later transfer to Newcastle in January 2005.
Portsmouth manager Harry Redknapp has been questioned by police previously in relation to the investigation into corruption and remains on bail.
