Drogba "200 per cent" part of Scolari's plans

Tuesday, 08 Jul 2008 13:55
Luiz Felipe Scolari says Didier Drogba is "200 per cent" part of his plans for Chelsea this season
Didier Drogba will defy the rumourmongers and remain at Chelsea, Luiz Felipe Scolari has said.

He told journalists the Ivorian striker – who has been linked with a move away from Stamford Bridge – was "200 per cent" part of his plans.

"I spoke to him yesterday [when he returned for pre-season training] and I saw him happy and I am more happy if he stays.

"He was happy to be starting to train."

Pushed further on Drogba, who was signed by Jose Mourinho for £24 million from Marseille in 2004, Scolari said he had voted for the striker in the world player of the year awards in his capacity as Brazil coach.

Drogba, 30, has attracted the interest of AC Milan and Barcelona as well as Mourinho's new club Inter Milan.

But despite a summer of rumours no concrete bids have been tabled for the controversial star.End of story
