Gary Megson delighted to get Johan Elmander
Bolton Wanderers have completed the signing of Swedish international striker Johan Elmander from Toulouse.

The club have refused to disclose the transfer fee, although it thought to be in the region of £10 million with Bolton striker Daniel Braaten going in the other direction.

Elmander, who has signed a three-year contract, scored 22 goals in 62 appearances for Toulouse and helped the French side qualify for the Champions League last season.

The 27-year-old has also represented his country 38 times, scoring eleven goals. He played twice for Sweden at Euro 2008.

"Johan is a player I have admired for a long time," said Bolton manager Gary Megson. "He's a player who will get us goals and also create opportunities for his team-mates.

"I am still on the look out for other players to boost the quality of our squad," added Megson.

Bolton have started to spend the £15 million they received for the sale of Nicolas Anelka, who left the Reebok to join Chelsea in January.

Midfielder Fabrice Muamba was bought by Megson from relegated Birmingham City for a fee of £5 million. End of story
