Alex Hleb in Barcelona for medical ahead of move from Arsenal
Arsenal midfielder Alexander Hleb has arrived in Spain for a medical ahead of his proposed transfer to Barcelona.
The Catalan giants have announced on their website that Hleb, who has long been linked with a move away from the Emirates Stadium, is due to undergo checks at the club and the local hospital before signing terms tomorrow.
The move appears to be as good as complete, however, since Barca announced the Belarusian would also be attending a photograph session at around 13:00 local time today.
"Alexander Hleb, who has played the three last seasons with Arsenal, arrives in Barcelona today to undergo a medical examination before he signs for FC Barcelona," the club stated.
"Assuming he passes the tests satisfactorily, Alexander Hleb will sign a contract tomorrow and be presented to the media as an FC Barcelona player."
Hleb joined Arsenal for £11.2 million from Stuttgart in 2005 and has scored 11 goals in 130 appearances for the club.
No details of the fee agreed between the Gunners and Barcelona have been released, although reports from Spain suggest it is around £15 million.
