Charlton striker Darren Bent has committed his immediate future to the Addicks by signing a new four-year deal.
The former Ipswich player had been linked to several big clubs such as Tottenham, Liverpool and Newcastle after a highly-successful first season at the Valley.
He finished the Premiership's top-scoring Englishman and, in a sentiment many sympathised with, expressed his disappointment at being left out of Sven-Goran Eriksson's World Cup squad.
The forward was delighted to put an end to the rumours surrounding him and stay loyal to the London club.
"Richard Murray knows that I am committed to this club and, although I am flattered to be linked with the biggest clubs in the country, I owe Charlton a lot after they gave me my chance in the Premiership," he told the club's official website.
New manager Iain Dowie will be equally pleased to retain the services of the 22-year-old who averaged a goal every other game in the league last term.
With Jimmy Floyd-Hasselbaink brought in from Middlesbrough to partner Bent, his boss may be cautiously optimistic of even greater things this time around.
