Broad hopes to end Yuvraj torment

Stuart Broad says England must stop in-form batsman Yuvraj Singh
England seamer Stuart Broad says his side must get big-hitting batsman Yuvraj Singh under control following the Indian's devastating start to the one-day series.

Singh followed up his 138 in Rajkot with a 118 in Indore - two match-winning performances which have left England trailing 2-0 with five to play.

Not to be outdone with the ball Singh then took 4-28 with his part-time left-arm spin, even beating England's standout bowler Broad - who had taken three top-order wickets.

With the third fixture coming up in Kanpur on Thursday, Broad hopes his team-mates can get the in-form Singh under control.

"In Indian conditions he's known to be one of the best around, he's got a high back-lift and doesn't hold much back," he said.

"On these slow wickets it's quite hard to get it around his nose, but you've just got to keep him guessing and hopefully he'll nick one.

"We've tried to mix it up as much as we can, but the man is in fantastic form at the moment and that can happen.

"Hopefully he's coming to the end of that little patch, for our sakes."

Broad has had to deal with his own demons after receiving a talking-to for dissent during the Indore game.

He appeared to question a wide called against him and was summoned to match referee Roshan Mahanama's office afterwards as a result.

Broad was left thankful his father Chris, who is also a match referee, was not the man in charge.

"I'd have probably been fined my whole match fee if my dad had been the ref," Broad remarked.

"I explained it was a heat of the moment thing and I didn't think I had done anything particularly wrong. I have just got to smile instead of being disappointed."

Broad and the rest of the England attack will receive some assistance from spinner Graeme Swann, who has been called up for Thursday's game.
