Former England head coach Duncan Fletcher is set to join South Africa's staff as a consultant ahead of the Proteas' upcoming Test series against Bangladesh.
Fletcher, who resigned from his post with the England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) a little over 18 months ago, will work with the existing coaches employed by Cricket South Africa in their preparations for the next series as well as the subsequent tour of Australia later in the winter.
In a statement, Cricket South Africa said: "Former England coach Duncan Fletcher is to join the Proteas on a consultancy basis as the South African cricket team intensifies its build-up to the approaching Test series against Bangladesh and Australia.
"Fletcher will then travel with the Test squad for the first Test against Australia at Perth in mid-December."
On his resume, Fletcher can point to a largely successful eight-year stint in charge of England which included a restructuring of the game within the ECB and a first Ashes-winning campaign for 18 years in 2005.
And head coach Mickey Arthur backed Fletcher, who has worked with Proteas stars Herschelle Gibbs and Jacques Kallis in the past, to have a positive influence on his players.
"Duncan will spend three days with us before each of the two Tests against Bangladesh and will then spend 12 days with us in Australia ahead of the opening Test at Perth," he said.
"He will add a great deal of value to our plans and preparations, particularly with his experience of having been a successful coach against Australia.
"I am a great believer in refreshing the squad, whether it be on the playing or management side. He will help us find another five per cent to take us up to the next level."
