The 42-year-old is hoping to guide the Baggies back to the Premiership
West Brom have appointed Tony Mowbray as their new manager to replace former England captain Bryan Robson.
The Baggies, who lie seventh in the Championship, parted company with Robson last month.
Mowbray, 42, leaves his job at SPL side Hibernian to take the job at Albion and will officially start on Wednesday.
He will attend West Brom's league matches against Crystal Palace on Saturday and Ipswich three days later.
Mowbray, who had a coaching spell with Ipswich, said he had a good feeling about the club.
"I spoke to the board this week and the talks went very well," he said.
"I always think it's important that the fit is right when a manager joins a new club.
"And I would like to think this fit is right."
Mowbray, who spent two years in Scotland with Hibs, added that he was gratedful to the Edinburgh club for giving him a chance in management.
"At Ipswich, I coached under George Burley and Joe Royle knowing I wanted to become a manager," he said.
"I am very, very grateful to Hibs for giving me that opportunity."
"I had two-and-a-half enjoyable years up there and I would like to think it was a relatively successful time considering the way we got the club moving."
Mowbray's first match will be against fellow Premiership hopefuls Wolves on Sunday 22nd October.
