Venus Williams has qualified for the semi-finals of the Tour Championships in Doha after recording a three-set victory over her younger sister Serena.
World number eight Venus, who is ranked seventh at the season-ending tournament, recovered from losing the first set 7-5 after she dropped her serve at the crucial moment.
But Serena could not keep pace with her elder sibling beyond that point as Venus roared back to take the second and third sets with the loss of just one game.
The win means Venus is certain of a place in the last-four from the Maroon Group following her earlier victory over Russia's Dinara Safina.
However, Serena faces a sterner task to make it into the knockout stage - she must beat Elena Dementieva, who also defeated Safina in straight sets, on Friday.
In the White Group, world number one Jelena Jankovic eased into the semi-finals as she triumphed 7-6 6-4 over Russia's Svetlana Kuznetsova, who was consequently knocked out of the tournament.
