Portsmouth deny rumour that Harry Redknapp could be joining CSKA Moscow
FA Cup holders
Portsmouth have moved to stamp out a rumour that manager Harry Redknapp could be set to join Russian side CSKA Moscow this summer.
Reports from eastern Europe today suggested Redknapp could be the subject of an approach by CSKA, who would offer the Englishman a generous salary to succeed current coach Valeri Gazzaev.
Gazzaev has stated he intends to leave the Moscow giants at the end of the club's current domestic season.
But a Portsmouth spokesman has rubbished reports that Redknapp could be on the verge of leaving Fratton Park.
"Harry Redknapp is very happy at Portsmouth," the spokesman told the Portsmouth News.
"An approach from any other club would be unwelcome.
"Harry signed a new contract at the end of last year and is looking forward to leading us into Europe."
