Scottish Premier League leaders Celtic made short work of Third Division Dumbarton as they avoided any slip-ups and racked up a leisurely 4-0 win to advance in the Scottish Cup.
Gordon Strachan's men wasted little time asserting their dominance on their lowly opposition and Maciej Zurawski clipped a precise lob over Stephen Grindlay after just four minutes to get the ball rolling.
The Polish striker quickly added a second after ten minutes with a snappy finish from Shunsuke Nakamura's pass.
Jan Vennegoor of Hesselink and Derek Riordan rounded off the victory in front of an unenthused Parkhead crowd.
Elsewhere Morton produced the surprise of the round, seeing Premier League Kilmarnock off with a 3-1 win earned through two goals from Chris Templeman and a strike from Paul McGowen.
Richie Foran scored the only goal of the game to grant Motherwell local bragging rights and a 1-0 win in the Lanarkshire derby against Airdrie.
Falkirk came through a tricky trip to Berwick Rangers as goals from Alan Gow and Liam Craig secured a 2-0 win for the Bairns.
The most entertaining tie of the round was to be found at Deveronvale where the home side fought their way to a 5-4 win over Elgin City.
