Bolton Wanderers goalkeeper Ali Al Habsi has signed a new four-and-a-half-year contract to keep him at the club until at least the summer of 2013.
The Oman international, who turns 27 tomorrow, has made ten league appearances for the Trotters since joining from Norwegian side Lyn Oslo in January 2006.
He is currently understudy to first-choice shot-stopper Jussi Jaaskelainen and earned the support of the club's management when asked to step in for the injured Finn towards the end of last season.
Al Habsi is likely to continue as second choice behind Jaaskelainen, although the highly-rated Scandinavian is reportedly attracting interest from a number of clubs with a view to a transfer in January.
Al Habsi, who has 66 caps for Oman, is set to be absent from the Bolton squad in January due to his country's participation in the Gulf Cup although the club have confirmed they do have a clause that enables them to recall the reserve if necessary.
