Just don't put Krypton in his crib
Nicholas Cage feels just super after his wife Alice Kim Cage gave birth on Monday to a bouncing baby boy.
No vital statistics have been released about the Con Air actor's newborn, but Cage clearly thinks that he and his wife have conceived somebody quite special: their new child is called Kal-el.
While this may not mean much to many people, comic book fans will know that this is the birth name of Clark Kent, aka Superman.
Should Kal-el Coppola Cage really be blessed with superpowers, he could be quite the precocious little tyke to keep up with, which could be tough for Big Nick, as he's currently working on seven films including a sequel to last year's action blockbuster,
National Treasure.
Cage's agent Annett Wolf released a statement after Kal-el's birth. It said: "They are healthy and happy and it's quite lovely."
The 41-year-old actor already has one child, a 14-year-old son from a previous relationship with Kristina Fulton.
He met Kim, 21, in February 2004, and they wed just four months later.
Cage can be seen in cinemas later this month starring in
Lord of War.
