Emma: skating on thin ice
Harry Potter star Emma Watson, who plays swotty Hermione Granger, is taking part in a new reality TV show … on ice.

The 15 year-old is hoping to impress viewers with her spins and twirls on the ice rink as she competes to win Stars on Thin Ice, a new celebrity skating contest, according to the Daily Star Sunday.

The show will be presented by ice dance legends Jayne Torvill and Christopher Dean, who won gold for Britain in the 1984 Olympics.

Actress Emma, whose co-star Daniel Radcliffe recently admitted he had a crush on, will be one of ten celebrities to train with the sporting champs for five weeks before competing live on ITV1 for a place in the final.

The Potter star fell in love with ballroom dancing on the set of her latest movie Goblet of Fire, and it is said that she jumped at the chance to try out her new moves in the rink.

Reports say that Olympic gold medalist Kelly Holmes and Princess Diana's former butler Paul Burrell will also take part in the show, which will be on our screens in February.

The show will propel Emma even further into the heights of fame. But last week she said she lives a normal life despite her star status.

"If you put on huge sunglasses and hats like some celebrities then people are going to stare at you," she said.

"But if you walk around like everyone else, no-one takes a blind bit of notice."
