Harry Potter: fans' favourite
Harry Potter is the greatest screen fantasy hero of all time, according to a poll by the UK Sci-Fi Channel.
The teen wizard topped the survey of 1,500 film watchers – a timely result ahead of Sunday's world premiere of Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire.
Arnold Schwarzenegger's Terminator 2: Judgement Day character lagged behind Potter in second place, while Sarah Michelle Gellar's lead character in Buffy the Vampire Slayer bagged bronze.
Spiderman webslung his way into fourth place.
In a parallel poll to find the greatest fantasy villain, Star Wars' Darth Vader came top, while the eponymous monster from the Alien series was second.
A spokesman for UK Sci-Fi said: "It's great that a home-grown icon has been voted the greatest hero. To give film fans their ultimate showdown, JK Rowling needs to pit her boy wizard against Darth Vader."
