Tickets to Barack Obama's presidential inauguration parade have sold out online in less than a minute.
The US-president elect will be sworn into office on January 20th and tickets have been allocated for stands on the parade route taken by the incoming president down the National Mall in Washington DC.
A total of 5,000 tickets were put up for sale online at 1300 local time (1800 GMT) by the presidential inaugural committee and all of the $25 (£16) seats were sold within 60 seconds.
Speaking about the sale, inaugural committee chief spokeswoman Linda Douglas said: "You just have to assume there must have been people sitting there at their computers ready to go when the clock struck one."
A spokesman for online sales company Ticketmaster said the sale was "blazingly fast".
Prime seats at the event had been reserved for Congressmen and incoming members of the Obama administration prior to the online sale.
