At least 22 people were killed and scores injured after a bomb blast at a mosque in central Pakistan.
The suicide attack in the city of Chakwal, south-east of the country's capital, took place outside the gates of a Shiite mosque in the area.
Police officer Chaudhry Zulfiqar told the AFP news agency: "A Shiite gathering was taking place when the explosion occurred at the gate.
"The explosion took place at the gate of the Imambargah [Shiite mosque]."
The blast comes a day after a suicide attack on a base in Pakistan's capital claimed the lives of eight paramilitary soldiers.
In late March, gunmen attacked a police academy in Pakistan killing dozens of people as the security situation in the country continues to deteriorate.
The leader of the Taliban in Pakistan, Baitullah Mehsud, has claimed responsibility for the previous attack and also threatened to conduct attacks in the US.
