Gordon Brown has announced three more cases of swine flu have been confirmed in the UK.
At prime-minister-questions this afternoon, Mr Brown said the three individuals included a 12-year-old girl from Torbay and two adults from London and Birmingham.
The new cases come on top of the Falkirk couple, Iain and Dawn Askham, who are continuing to receive hospital treatment after being diagnosed with the virus.
Mr Brown said the three people were all displaying mild symptoms and had recently travelled to Mexico.
The Torbay school which the unnamed 12-year-old girl had attended has been shut down with all the pupils offered antivirals.
Earlier, the Department of Health confirmed leaflets outlining information about swine flu will be distributed to every household in the UK by next Tuesday.
Yesterday Mr Brown attempted to ease fears yesterday claiming Britain was one of the best prepared countries in the world to deal with swine flu and said all "urgent action that is necessary" was being taken.
There are now 32 suspected cases of the flu in Scotland, which are continuing to be checked.
Eight people who have been in contact with the Falkirk couple have since tested negative to swine flu.
