Three new cases of swine flu have been established in the UK, the Department of Health has confirmed.
The new cases include one person living in Newcastle and two more in London.
Reports suggest the individual living in Newcastle shares a house with students and had recently retuned from Mexico.
Earlier today, the Department of Health (DoH) launched an advertising campaign aimed at combating the virus.
The advert promotes good hygiene, urging people to cover their face while sneezing and coughing, to dispose of tissues and wash their hands regularly.
The DoH advert warns members of the public germs spread quickly once released.
"Catch the sneeze, then bin the tissue and wash your hands with soap and water as soon as possible to kill the germs," the advert advises.
Two of the confirmed victims, Falkirk couple, Iain and Dawn Askham, were recently released from hospital.
A 12-year-old school girl and two adults from London and the Worcestershire have also been diagnosed.
From today, members of the public can call the following dedicated number to receive information on swine flu - 0800 1513513.
