Six people have been killed after gunmen opened fire outside the US consulate in Istanbul, Turkey.
Three police officers stationed outside the building died as did the three suspected terrorists.
Another policeman and a civilian police driver were injured in the attack, while a fourth suspect remains at large after making off in a white car.
Eyewitnesses said the 11:00 local time (09:00 BST) attack saw three men jump from a car and open fire, beginning an eight-minute shootout.
The three assailants, as well as one police officer, died at the scene when security forces returned fire, while two other policemen were pronounced dead in hospital.
Turkish prime minister Recep Tayyip Erdogan has offered his condolences to the security personnel killed in the attack.
"I was greatly saddened by the martyrdom of our three police officers in a terrorist attack," he said.
