Prince Harry has paid tribute to victims of the September 11th attacks at Ground Zero in New York during his first official visit abroad.
The third in line to the throne laid a wreath on the site of the attacks and met those involved in the rescue efforts on the day itself.
Speaking at the memorial, he said: "It's a great privilege for me to be here today in this beautiful garden, right in the heart of New York City.
"My family are so proud to be so closely associated with it and its purpose in honouring the memory of the 67 British people who died here on September 11th, 2001."
In his note on the wreath the prince expressed admiration for the people of the city who showed courage on the day and paid his respects to those who were killed.
The prince also visited a memorial to the 67 Britons killed in the plane attacks on the city's World Trade Centre in 2001.
During the two-day trip to the city, Harry will also play in a polo match to raise funds for a charity for children in Lesotho.
