Churches in Rothley, Leicestershire, will be holding prayer services today on the second anniversary of Madeleine McCann's disappearance.
On May 3rd 2007, the then three-year-old girl was seized in the Portuguese resort of Praia Da Luz. She is yet to be found in spite of an international campaign to find her and the hiring of private detectives by the McCann family.
Last week, Kate and Gerry McCann released an age-progressed image of their child who would now be six years old.
In a statement issued ahead of the anniversary, the McCanns said: "The pain and anxiety does not lessen, but our determination to find our beautiful daughter remains steadfast.
"We are no longer looking for a four-year-old little girl - but a six-year-old one. This is crucial," he added.
A documentary made by Channel Four is due to air next week in which private detectives say they are focusing their investigations on the resort itself and feel that someone within ten to 15 kms of the coastal town will have important information about the disappearance.
Detectives Dave Edgar and Arthur Cowley told the show: "You don't start an investigation in Morocco or Spain or France or even Lisbon.
"This offence happened in Praia da Luz. It is a very self-contained resort, and that's where we've started and that's where I think the answer is," he added.
