Zimbabwe's president Robert Mugabe has appointed eight acting ministers after sacking a number of senior members from his Zanu-PF party after they lost their seats in last year's election.
State media the Daily Herald reports Paul Mangwana has been appointed the new acting minister of information and publicity, taking over from Sikhanyiso Dlovu who failed to hold onto his seat in March.
Elsewhere, defence minister Sydney Sekeramayi has become the acting minister of mines and mining development, succeeding Amos Midzi, who, like Mr Dlovu, lost in his constituency.
Last week Mr Mugabe dismissed the executive appointments of 12 cabinet ministers and deputy ministers who failed to secure their parliamentary seats.
It was announced earlier this month the 84-year-old president may form a coalition government with the opposition Movement for Democratic Change (MDC) party by the end of next month.
Talks to resolve the current political crisis in Zimbabwe have become deadlocked after disagreements between Mr Mugabe and MDC leader Morgan Tsvangirai over the make-up of the new cabinet.
In March last year Mr Tsvangirai decided to pull out of a presidential run-off against Mr Mugabe citing violence aimed towards his supporters. The country has affectively been in political limbo since.
