At least 28 people have been killed in a suicide blast in the Iraqi province of Diyala.
Local police say the blast targeted a queue of police recruits in the town of Jalawlah.
Over 40 people were also injured in the explosion at around 12:00 local time (10:00 BST).
Reports claim there had been a local recruitment drive for the police force in the area and people were heading back today to find out whether they were successful.
The bomber is said to have jumped out of his car when stopped by police before running into the crowd.
Diyala province has become one of Iraq's most dangerous regions.
US and Iraqi forces have launched a continual offensive against Sunni Muslim militants in the region for the last month.
