A critically-ill groom and the body of his bride have been flown back to the UK after a double shooting in Antigua on their honeymoon.
Ben Mullany arrived in Cardiff in an air ambulance in the early hours of the morning and has been transferred to Morriston hospital in Swansea.
The body of his wife Catherine Mullany, nee Bowen, returned to Wales on a separate flight with her parents onboard.
Mr and Mrs Mullany, both 31 and from south Wales, were on the last day of their honeymoon on the Caribbean island when they were attacked as they slept at the Cocos Hotel near Valley Church last Sunday in what has been reported as a botched robbery.
The doctor has sustained a fractured skull and remains in a coma but reports he is brain dead have not been officially confirmed.
Antigua police have arrested six people in connection with the incident, although several have been released already.
Following a request from the island's authorities, a team of detectives from the Scotland Yard and South Wales police are flying to Antigua to assist the murder investigation, which has provoked national outcry in a country largely dependent upon tourism.
